Microsoft finally kills the double Copilot icon problem
Microsoft is merging its consumer and work Copilot apps into a single unified experience, ditching the annoying two-icon taskbar clutter for one app that handles chat, image creation, and Microsoft 365 work tasks. It's not just spring cleaning: this is the foundation for Microsoft's planned Copilot "super app," launching later this year. Mobile and web rollout starts mid-August, with Windows and Mac following in mid-September, as Microsoft tries to make Copilot feel less like three separate products wearing a trench coat.
Nothing says "we have too many apps" like needing a rebrand just to have one.
