Roku's new channel is 24/7 AI slop, and it's exactly as bad as it sounds
Roku just added a free streaming channel that's nothing but AI-generated content, courtesy of startup Fairground, whose founder is reportedly cooking up AI adaptations of Robin Hood and Dracula. It's part of a batch of new FAST channels Roku rolled out this week, but while the others feature actual archival TV, this one is a nonstop feed of algorithmic filler. It matters because it signals streaming platforms are ready to fill airtime with machine-made content just to say they're 'in on AI,' quality be damned.
Roku found a way to make cable feel prestigious again.
