Anthropic Might Drop $6B on the AI Lab That Actually Knows How to Party
Bloomberg's anonymous sources say Claude-maker Anthropic is circling a roughly $6 billion buyout of Decart, the AI lab behind deepfake-style video tool Lucy and playable-world generator Oasis. The real prize isn't the flashy demos though, it's Decart's DOS, an inference and training stack that reportedly squeezes way more performance out of chips. With Anthropic reportedly paying xAI $1.25 billion a month just to run its models, cheaper compute could be worth billions ahead of what might be the biggest IPO ever. Deal's not signed yet.
