Before Looksmaxxing Was a Word, Zyzz Was Already Doing It
Before TikTok's looksmaxxing obsession and manosphere gurus, there was Zyzz, a shy Kurdish-Australian teen who turned relentless gym selfies and cocky webcam rants into internet stardom on forums and early YouTube. A new documentary, Poster Boy: Becoming Zyzz, now streaming on Apple TV and Prime Video, traces how his 'we're all gonna make it, brah' persona anticipated today's self-improvement-to-toxicity pipeline, years before he died suddenly in Thailand at just 22 in 2011.
Turns out the manosphere had a founding father, and he was just a jacked, sad kid chasing likes before likes existed.
