Vine's back from the dead, and it hates AI slop
Divine, a spiritual reboot of Vine built by ex-Twitter staffer Evan Henshaw-Plath and backed by Jack Dorsey, just opened to the public with over 2 million original Vines restored. Same six-second looping format, but with one loud rule: zero AI-generated content, enforced by live in-app recording and a verification tool called ProofMode. Built on the decentralized Nostr protocol, it's less "controlled platform" and more "portable social graph" a la Bluesky. The real test: can nostalgia plus an anti-AI stance out-addict TikTok?
Banning AI slop is a nice pitch, right up until the app needs engagement numbers to survive.
