TIME's AI Top 100 has Paris Hilton but no Jensen Huang
TIME just dropped its Top 100 AI list, and the guy whose chips literally power the entire AI boom, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, didn't make it. Neither did Mark Zuckerberg or DeepMind's Demis Hassabis. Meanwhile Ben Affleck (yes, that Ben Affleck, for an AI editing startup Netflix bought) and Paris Hilton (for deepfake advocacy) got the nod. Nvidia just posted $96.2 billion in quarterly revenue and is basically the central bank of AI, making the omission look less like an oversight and more like a statement about what TIME thinks counts as "influence."
Why it matters
Huang, Zuckerberg, and Hassabis all made TIME's 2025 Person of the Year as "architects of AI," so this isn't ignorance, it's editorial choice. It shows how these lists chase pop-culture buzz over the actual infrastructure power brokers quietly running the AI economy.
