Gen X's official AI take: eh, sure, whatever
A new Glassdoor study, reported by Bloomberg, breaks down workplace AI sentiment by generation and finds Gen-Xers oddly unbothered: 46.1% spoke positively about AI at work, versus just 38.6% of millennials and 32.2% of Gen Z. Everyone's mostly negative overall, but Gen X is the only cohort without strong feelings either way, echoing a similar apathy Pew spotted in 50 to 64 year olds earlier this year. Turns out the 'olds can't adapt to new tech' fear hasn't quite panned out this time.
Nothing says peak Gen X energy like shrugging at the robot apocalypse.
Why it matters
It flips the usual narrative that younger, digital native workers are the AI true believers while older employees resist. If anything, Gen Z sounds the most skeptical, which matters for how companies pitch AI tools and who they train first.
