The 'No AI, We Promise' Research Company Was 100% AI
Research Gold sells itself as the anti-AI option for medical researchers: '100% human-written, never AI' systemic reviews and meta-analyses, backed by a roster of PhD methodologists. Except those PhDs don't exist, their headshots are AI-generated, and when 404 Media called the company, an AI voice agent answered and denied being AI while trying to close the sale. Some real methodologists were also listed without consent, their LinkedIn photos lifted straight onto the site. In an industry built on trust and citations, that's not a glitch, it's a con.
Nothing says 'trust our science' quite like a sales bot lying to your face about being a robot.
