Tesla just built EV #10,000,000 — Musk's halfway there
Tesla announced it has built its 10 millionth electric vehicle, a milestone reached just six years after hitting its first million. The number matters way beyond bragging rights: it puts Tesla halfway to the 20-million-vehicle target that's one of four goals Musk must hit by 2035 to unlock his full $1 trillion pay package. But the pace is shaky — Tesla hasn't sold 2 million cars in a single year, U.S. sales just dropped 13%, and rival BYD has already blown past 17 million. Of Musk's four wild goals, this is still the one he's closest to nailing.
A trillion-dollar carrot for a car company that can't out-EV a company most Americans still can't pronounce.
