AI Beauty Scans Are Selling Women Their Own Insecurities
Fueled by TikTok's 'looksmaxxing' craze, companies like Qoves are charging women hundreds of dollars to upload selfies and receive AI-generated 'beauty reports.' One customer paid $330 and got a 30-page rundown scoring her ear shape and femininity, then recommending rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, chin implants, cheek fillers, Botox and more. Experts say the scoring has zero scientific backing, but that hasn't stopped women in debt from planning surgery trips to Mexico chasing an 'ideal' face an algorithm invented.
Nothing says self-improvement like an algorithm itemizing your face like a used car needing repairs.
