Jeff Bezos, world's richest yacht owner, is reportedly teaming up with Eduardo Saverin to buy at least 30% of Liverpool FC at a £1.35 billion valuation, per The Guardian. It would be his first-ever sports investment after previously eyeing an NFL team. He'd be joining a growing club of American billionaires and celebrities (Ryan Reynolds, Tom Brady, Will Ferrell) who've turned the Premier League into a playground for US money, with 13 of 20 clubs now having American owners.
Nothing says 'I have too much money and not enough hobbies' like buying a 130-year-old British institution and immediately renaming the stadium's snack bar.
