Wall Street Hits Records as Palantir Goes 'Otherworldly'
The S&P 500 jumped 1.8% to a fresh all-time high, the Dow added 907 points, and the Nasdaq soared 2.6% as corporate earnings crush expectations across the board. The star of the show: Palantir, up 29.5% after CEO Alex Karp bragged revenue leaped 93% in an 'otherworldly' quarter. Caterpillar also popped 5.6% on record $20bn quarterly sales, partly thanks to AI datacenter demand. S&P 500 companies are on pace for their biggest earnings jump since the 2021 pandemic rebound, easing fears that AI hype had outrun reality.
Nothing says 'sustainable economy' like an entire stock market rally riding on one CEO's use of the word 'otherworldly.'
