Meta's Privacy Fix Has a $2 Sticker Problem
Meta swore its smart glasses were built with privacy in mind: a little LED lights up to warn people they're on camera, and a new update was supposed to stop the light from being disabled or drilled out. Except Engadget just proved cheap stickers bought online can still cover the LED well enough to make it barely noticeable, undercutting the whole point. Meta says it's 'exploring ways to strengthen tampering detection,' but for now, the glasshole loophole is alive and well.
Nothing says 'privacy by design' like a design privacy can defeat for the price of a gas station sticker sheet.
