a16z Wants to Replace College With a Startup Factory
a16z just announced The Horowitz Andreessen Academy, a San Francisco school launching Fall 2027 backed by Anduril, Anthropic, Google, Meta, OpenAI, Palantir, Stripe and more. The pitch: AI makes "knowing" cheap, so the new flex is "doing." Instead of lectures and homework, students build actual AI products and startups with industry heavyweights as partners.
No frat parties, but plenty of cap tables before you can legally drink.
