Squid Game's Creator Is Coming for the Rich Old Guys Now
Hwang Dong-hyuk, the mind behind Netflix's Squid Game, is making his first feature film in a decade, and it's not subtle: K.O. Club stands for 'Killing Oldmen Club.' Set in a future where the rich can literally buy youth, the film pits an aging elite against the generation they're stealing life from. Front Man himself, Lee Byung-hun, and other Squid Game alums are on board. Filming starts early 2027, no distributor confirmed yet, but 'from the creator of Squid Game' basically guarantees an audience.
Why it matters
Squid Game became Netflix's biggest show ever and turned Hwang into a global brand name in dystopian social commentary. Whatever he touches next comes with built-in hype, and this premise (buying youth, class war, violent title) suggests he's not pivoting away from what made him famous.
