Jony Ive's next big design flex: a $300 AI doughnut
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that the secretive OpenAI device from Jony Ive and Sam Altman is basically a smart speaker with no screen: battery-powered, doughnut-shaped, hockey-puck sized, with moving parts and lights that react when it's listening. Expected in 2027 for north of $300, it'll run a beefed-up ChatGPT voice mode and is meant to be carried around the house one-handed, Amazon Tap style. After months of mystery and an Apple lawsuit over the hype, we finally know the shape of the thing everyone's been guessing about.
Nothing says 'the future of AI' like a $300 fidget donut that judges your life choices.
