Durov wants to give a billion users their own .gram
Pavel Durov just revealed Telegram applied to ICANN for its own top level domain: .gram. If approved, that could let up to a billion Telegram users claim personal second level domains like yourname.gram, complete with interactive websites hosted right on Telegram and spun up with a single AI prompt. It is a bold land grab into web infrastructure territory usually reserved for governments and legacy registrars, and it would turn Telegram usernames into actual internet addresses.
Nothing says 'we are just a messaging app' like trying to own a slice of the entire internet.
