Uber Turns Drivers' Phones Into Parental Spy Cams
Uber just rolled out live video streaming for its teen accounts, letting parents watch their kid's ride in real time through the driver's own front-facing phone camera. It's live in nine US cities now, going nationwide soon, and builds on existing teen safety tools like PIN verification and ride tracking. Uber says only linked parents can view it, but encrypted recordings stick around on its servers for 14 days, because nothing says 'peace of mind' like a surveillance archive.
