Gen X to AI panic: not today
Pew's latest AI survey shows Americans overall are more anxious than ever, with 52% saying they're more concerned than excited, and under-30s hitting a record-high 55% dread. But 50 to 64 year olds are bucking the trend, becoming steadily less freaked out each year since 2023. Don't get it twisted though, only 8% of them actually like AI, they're just the least terrified, which says more about everyone else's spiraling anxiety than their optimism.
Nothing says "cautious optimism" like being slightly less scared than a bunch of panicking twenty somethings.
