LinkedIn's AI slop button is getting a workout
LinkedIn quietly added a 'Seems like AI slop' button back in July, tucked in the three dots menu on posts, and now the company says over a million people have clicked it. The move followed a report that 41 percent of LinkedIn's longform posts were fully AI generated. LinkedIn claims the crackdown is working: AI slop posts are getting 40 percent fewer views than a few weeks ago. Turns out nobody logged on for robot-written thought leadership after all.
Even LinkedIn's own users think LinkedIn is full of garbage, groundbreaking research.
