X hands you the algorithm and a mirror to check your shadowban
X just dropped its For You algorithm and core ranking engine on GitHub, a codebase now 10 to 15 times bigger than before, complete with the actual weights that decide what you see. Even bigger: a new 'Under the Hood' transparency tool lets users download a JSON file showing if their posts or account got flagged by any ranking system, so you can finally settle the shadowban debate with data instead of vibes. Outside researchers already got the ranking score running independently, a milestone X's product VP calls 'shocking.'
Nothing says 'trust us' like also handing you the receipts, only after years of insisting the shadowban was a conspiracy theory.
